The Mönchengladbach site of OeTTINGER Brauerei GmbH was honoured not once but twice for the exceptional quality of its beers. Original OeTTINGER Alt and Original OeTTINGER Bock were presented with the 2018 Golden Award by the DLG (German Agricultural Society).

The OeTTINGER Brauerei GmbH is thrilled to receive this coveted award, as only beers that faultlessly meet all the DLG’s test criteria for appearance, consistency, smell and flavour are presented with the GOLD award.

The subsidiary plant on the Lower Rhine was set up in 2003 and is now the OeTTINGER Group’s second largest production site. Producing around 930 million litres, the OeTTINGER Group is one of Germany’s largest brewing companies. Every year it bottles around 2 billion bottles and cans with beer, beer-mix drinks and soft drinks. The family-owned company, which has been based in the Bavarian town of Oettingen since 1731, now has a workforce of 1,050.

Apart from end-to-end quality control, state-of-the-art production facilities at four different sites and company-wide environmental awareness, the company also endeavours to provide attractive pricing – made possible by efficient direct sales. OeTTINGER products are sold across the globe.

A good reason for a toast! Udo Feiter (Master Brewer), Heinrich Hartwigsen (Head of Quality Assurance), Moritz Krech and Sven Willim (Master Brewers) and Jürgen Brunacker (Site Coordinator) are very proud of the Gold medallion for the two beers that are solely brewed at the Mönchengladbach site. “The DLG award is confirmation of the quality of our products and is also an award for our employees for their outstanding work,” explains Moritz Krech, toasting the award-winning beers with his colleagues.
