At its headquarters in Oettingen, Bavaria, OeTTINGER Brewery has honored nine lorry drivers for their excellent service to the company with the International Road Transport Union (IRU) Diploma of Honor. In total, the company employs around 90 drivers at its headquarters. With this award, the IRU honors long-standing drivers in personnel and goods transportation. The employees receiving the award are all over 60 years old and so are real OeTTINGER veterans. In order to receive the award, the employees must have been working as drivers for at least 20 years, accident-free with no infringement of the law and have at least 1 million km on the road under their belts. By way of comparison, this is equivalent to circumnavigating the globe approximately 25 times – and more than the distance to the moon and back.

Along with employee representative Günther Held, Pia Kollmar, main shareholder in OeTTINGER Brewery, presented the certificates and medals as part of the employee meeting on 06 December in Oettingen. Pia praises the drivers: “Direct delivery with its own fleet of lorries has been an important part of the OETTINGER strategy for many years. With their daily dedication, our drivers ensure that our beverages arrive at their destination on time and in good condition. They are real heroes of the road, passionate draymen, and we at OeTTINGER can be truly proud of our employees.”

The IRU Diploma of Honor was awarded to the following employees: Alois Braun, Helmut Erhardt, Willi Gebhard, Manfred Greß, Werner Häfele, Werner Schmeißer, Karl Schmidt, Hans Schneid and Josef Seefried.
