Saving the best for last: Straight after successfully completing their apprenticeships at our headquarters in Oettingen, Franziska Jung (food technology specialist) and Benedikt Mayer (brewer and maltster) recorded another set of top marks, with both passing the final exam at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) with flying colors. This has now earned them recognition as the top trainees for the year in their respective apprenticeships in the Augsburg and North Swabia region.
A delighted Franziska says: “During my apprenticeship at OeTTINGER, I learned something new every day and I was constantly enjoying new experiences, all the while being supported by my colleagues. What I found really great was that the apprentices bonded so well. This is something that OeTTINGER Brewery actively encourages by putting on cross-location trainee events. I am so proud to be able to say a big ‘thank you’ with my exam results”

Benedikt agrees with this: “The apprenticeship was really varied. We even got to assist the brewing process at the Forstquell Brewery in Fürnheim. Being named as the top trainee for my year group is a further incentive for me to complete another study course after my apprenticeship in order to further broaden the knowledge I have gained so far”
The coronavirus situation forced Franziska and Benedikt to confront unique challenges this year: Closed schools and periods of home study complicated their apprenticeships. For this reason, instructor Johannes Lutz is particularly proud of the commitment demonstrated by the two trainees: “Despite the unfavorable circumstances, Franziska and Benedikt have overcome the challenges of the past school year in an exemplary fashion. I am really proud of them both”
CCI Swabia had already confirmed our brewery as an Apprenticeship Company 2020 at the start of the year and, in so doing, paid tribute to the high quality of OeTTINGER’s apprenticeship programs. For us, the recognition enjoyed by Franziska and Benedikt is as equally important as further acclaim for being one of the best apprenticeship companies around.
