Dancing for the fun of it and for a good cause: In mid-January, our Mönchengladbach apprentices, along with their Master Brewer Moritz Krech, took part in the Jerusalema Challenge.

They really knocked it out of the park with their video and the message it sent, most importantly because they helped the dance challenge to spread even further around the world while at the same time collecting soft drinks for a good cause! The non-alcoholic drinks were donated to hospitals and emergency services in Mönchengladbach as a heartfelt “thank you” for their service during the coronavirus crisis.

On Friday, Moritz Krech and his apprentices handed over 106 crates of soft drinks to Mayor Felix Heinrichs and Dirk Schattka from the Mönchengladbach fire service. But that wasn’t all: Jürgen Brunacker, Site Manager in Mönchengladbach, topped up the donation on behalf of OeTTINGER Brewery by 80 more crates!

Mayor of Mönchengladbach Felix Heinrichs says: “The drinks are only going to where they are needed the most, where people show solidarity, never fail to help each other and are always there for one another. At the moment, there is so much to get done in setting up the vaccination center and the coronavirus coordination center, not forgetting the tireless work at the Mönchengladbach unit for disinfecting ambulances. We want to and must be there for everybody in Mönchengladbach.”Meanwhile, our apprentices’ dance routine has been a huge hit on the internet! The video on our OeTTINGER YouTube channel has already been viewed more than 70,000 times!

A huge initiative: A total of 186 crates of non-alcoholic drinks were offered to hospitals and emergency services in Mönchengladbach as a heartfelt “thank you” for their service during the coronavirus crisis. Pictured; top row from the left: Our apprentices Dmitrij Boldyrev, Niclas Gotzen, Jonas Gerhards and Moritz Winderlich; Bottom row from the left: Jürgen Brunacker (Technical Site Manager at OeTTINGER Brewery Mönchengladbach), Markus Corres (Fire Department employee), Moritz Krech (Master Brewer), Frank Zientowski (Fire Department employee), Dirk Schattka (Deputy Head of the Fire Department and Head of the Emergency Response and Rescue Service), apprentice Kevin Becker and Mayor Felix Heinrichs.
