As part of the “Logistics is Female” campaign, Bavarian Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter presented our brewery with two awards in Nuremberg on Monday: the prize for “inspiring commitment and courageous action” went to both the business as a whole and to Pia Kollmar individually.
The “Logistics is Female” campaign was launched by the Bavarian State Ministry for Housing, Construction and Transport along with the Logistik Initiative Bayern and CNA e.V., with the aim of strengthening the shipping, transport and logistics industry across the Federal State. By placing a focus on the role of women in logistics, the initiative aims to improve equal opportunities, employer appeal and development potential, thereby counteracting the lack of specialists and emerging talent in the sector. The “mobile” award ceremony for 14 businesses and female entrepreneurs took place within the framework of the Bavaria Night of Logistics on a tram belonging to Transport Association Region Nuremberg, the transit authority of the city of Nuremberg.

Special recognition: A brace of logistics awards go to OeTTINGER and Pia Kollmar.

Christian Bernreiter highlighted the importance of this event against the backdrop of the challenging situation that the logistics sector is currently facing in particular: “The logistics sector is currently being forced to navigate one crisis after another – from a skilled labor shortage to the pandemic, all the way through to the current geopolitical conflict. These outstanding businesses and individuals are a testament to how, with blood, sweat and tears, as well as fresh perspectives, obstacles and challenges can be successfully overcome.”
Dr. Rudolf Aunkofer, Managing Director of CNA e.V. / Logistik Initiative Bayern, says: “The ‘Logistics is Female’ initiative is proof that there are already many successful women working in the transport and logistics sector. Our prize winners are role models who will inspire the next generation to make the most of the amazing job opportunities that this sector has to offer. There have been many positive developments in the logistics industry over the past few years, although these have occasionally gone under the radar. It is a modern, international and sustainable industry that offers a wide range of career opportunities.”
