A group of ten young men and women have been awarded scholarships by the Günther and Ingrid Kollmar Foundation this year. They will each receive support for their further training at a value of 20,000 euros overall.
The scholarship recipients for 2024 are as follows: Luca Bühler from Wassertrüdingen is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in the field of Digital and Data Driven Business, while Alexander Engelbrecht from Marktoffingen is preparing to receive his Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture. Jan Erdle from Munningen and Tobias Gutmann from Röckingen are in the process of studying for their Electrical Engineering degrees. Daniel Herrle, who hails from Wallerstein, has been awarded a grant to support his studies in wood construction that will eventually see him qualify as a Master Carpenter, while Alicia Meierhuber from Westheim is studying for a degree in Civil Engineering. Nico Prentner from Megesheim will use his grant to support his studies towards obtaining a degree in Business Administration. The remaining trio of scholarship recipients in 2024 includes Kai Schürer from Auhausen, who is currently studying for a Computer Science degree, Volkan Songur, who is working towards a degree in Chemistry, and Simon Sprößer from Fremdingen, who is in the process of completing a Master’s degree in Design and Development in the area of Mechanical Engineering.
All ten students impressed the foundation members both with their excellent academic performances in recent years as well as their personal involvement in the local community. This is the 11th cohort to be awarded scholarships from the Günther and Ingrid Kollmar Foundation since it was first established 12 years ago.
A lunch was held at the Forstquell Brewery in Fürnheim, the Kollmar family’s headquarters, on October 3 to coincide with German Unity Day in order to announce and celebrate the latest cadre of lucky scholarship recipients.

About the Günther and Ingrid Kollmar Foundation
Founded in 2012, the mission of the Günther and Ingrid Kollmar Foundation is to empower young people with a passion for learning to further develop themselves in their respective spheres, take on social responsibility and drive change. The concept of the Günther and Ingrid Kollmar Foundation was borne from the idea that, upon completion of their training, the scholarship recipients would use the gifts at their disposal – knowledge, ideas, time, resolve, and vision – to help strengthen the regions around Oettingen and Wassertrüdingen. The first scholarships were awarded in 2013.
The deadline for scholarship applications next year is July 31, 2025. For further information, please see: kollmar-foerderstiftung.de
