Authors: Our apprentices

The cross-location apprentice event was held April 14–16, 2025, at our Mönchengladbach site. After lengthy journeys from Oettingen and Braunschweig, together with our instructors, we enjoyed a tour led by our colleague and certified beer ambassador Meinolf Saure.

The pilot brewery and the rooftop view over the entire site were particular highlights. After sharing a meal together and playing a few board games, we quickly bonded!

The next day, the agenda included a trip to Teekanne, a tea company based in Düsseldorf. We were given a short tour, during which we learned about the factory and production activities. Of course, we also had the opportunity to taste a few varieties of tea and stock up our own supplies in the factory shop! After lunch at the Carlsplatz market, we took a peek behind the curtain at the brewery in Füchschen. This traditional brewery in Düsseldorf’s old town also makes its very own Altbier, Füchschen Alt, a copper-colored style of beer closely associated with the city. After that, the challenge really began: Find our way out of the “Locked Room” escape room. In three teams, we racked our brains to solve the clues. It was a great way to improve our teamwork – and we had a good laugh too! In the evening, we went to Toni’s Pizza, an authentic Italian pizza restaurant in Mönchengladbach, where we were given a crash course in pizza making. We picked up a few tips and tricks, in addition to baking our own pizzas. With Italian music providing the perfect ambience and good vibes all round, the evening really flew by. On Wednesday, there was just enough time for the Instagram account – we took a few group photos before it was time to say goodbye and head back home. A fantastic event all round, full of interesting discussions and amazing experiences!
