We are expanding our visitor experience and will once again be offering brewery tours at our Oettingen site starting in October. The Mönchengladbach site has a long-standing tradition of offering guided tours, which are passionately led by certified beer ambassador Meinolf Saure, and now, after taking a break for a few years, we have developed a completely new visitor experience at our headquarters in Oettingen. It will be available in the coming month and will showcase a wide range of insights into our world of brewing.

“With this new visitor concept, we want to give guests a glimpse behind the scenes, allowing them to see our technology and innovation first hand“, says Sabareesh Gopalakrishnan, OeTTINGER BEVERAGES Operations Manager at the Oettingen site. “The production of our drinks requires many different processes to work together seamlessly in order to produce high-quality products at a fair price both here in Germany and overseas.“

The site tours in Oettingen will be led by seven different guides. Most of whom have many years of experience as tour guides in the Oettingen region – whether as guides in the Altmühltal Nature Park, the historic towns of Nördlingen and Dinkelsbühl, or in UNESCO Global Geopark Ries.

Beer news and free drinks on the site tour

The tour involves several coordinated stops in the southern (Süd) part of the plant.  To start with, you will be welcomed with some refreshments and receive an overview of the world’s 31st largest beer producer. Thereafter our first stop will take you to see our very own fleet of trucks, where you will learn all about our distribution and the special role it plays within our corporate strategy. The next stop is to the malt delivery area. Here, you will gain knowledge on the significance of regionality and raw material quality for the brewing process. We will then move onto the brew house, where you will see the entire brewing process taking place first hand. Next, your guides will show you where the bottling and canning process takes place, also advise on everything you need to know about the export of our products. The tour will then take you to the fermenting and storage tanks, where you will witness innovative processes and product development up close. At the final stop, you will learn more about our unique OeTTINGER beer pipeline. The tour will be rounded off by visiting several areas that offer excellent photo opportunities to record your visitor experience.  All the various stops on the Oettingen site tour should gradually come to life by the end of the year.
