Good decision-making often starts with a gut feeling – but only solid data can properly confirm the right choice to make: This is a principle we put into practice at OeTTINGER BEVERAGES.
Together with the digital service provider MotionMiners, at the end of last year we collected and analyzed dynamic data pertaining to intralogistics activities. This took place over several weeks and involved various stages. The aim was to gain a completely transparent overview of vehicle utilization, routes used, and hazard points for the first time.
The results:
- Status quo established: We now know exactly how the land lies when it comes to our processes.
- Room for improvement: We have identified areas where we can make things better.
- Shaping the future: Using this data, we can ensure that our intralogistics activities are more targeted, safer, and more efficient: For fleet management, nodal points, intersections, layout, and shift models.
Why this matters:
The focus here is not on short-term cost-cutting measures: It’s about creating transparency, understanding interrelated connections and contexts, and minimizing risk in order to ensure that we are heading in the right direction. And a well thought-out, fact-based approach is precisely the way we will achieve this.
