With torrential rain and lightning strikes illuminating the sky, this year’s RUN & FUN was the toughest ever. However, despite the awful weather, our OeTTINGER runners and helpers showed great bravery and perseverance throughout the entire day to make this event a success.
More than 5,000 runners took part overall, with all of the runners making up “Team OeTTI” finishing in the top 1,500. They all deserve huge praise for this great performance in such inclement conditions.
Just like the runners themselves, the army of helpers also defied the weather. Freezing and soaked to the bone, they still managed a smile as they handed out water and alcohol-free Weißbier to the competitors. Decked out with banners, beach flags and bar carts, the OeTTINGER stand certainly stood out, with the large umbrella offering numerous spectators the chance to seek shelter from the torrential downpour.
Our colleagues in Mönchengladbach – not forgetting their friends and families too – deserve special thanks for their incredible support in setting up and dismantling the OeTTINGER stand, as well as handing out well-earned beers and soft drinks to the runners.
