This year at our Mönchengladbach site, we are celebrating an exceptional achievement: Paula Mühlke, who began her brewer and maltster apprenticeship with us in August 2021, passed her exam at the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in July 2024 with top marks. But that’s not all: Paula also came out top among all apprenticeship graduates in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW)!
“The apprenticeship at Mönchengladbach was wonderful! Fantastic colleagues, great teachers, and the opportunity to constantly expand my knowledge at a cutting-edge brewery with a pilot brewery,” says Paula Mühlke, before adding: “I got to do more and more of the brewing myself as the apprenticeship progressed – I really loved that!”
Her fellow apprentice Gina Lorbetzki also passed her exam with flying colors. Both are now fully qualified brewers and maltsters. While Gina Lorbetzki would like to gain further expertise at other breweries, Paula Mühlke has chosen to stay in Mönchengladbach: “I’m needed here!” she says.
And she’s absolutely right.
